The Giclée technique allows us to create incredibly rich and detailed fine art prints, using specialist printers, archival quality, fade-resistant inks and acid free art papers.
The term ‘Giclée’ is derived from the French word, ‘gicler’, which literally translates as ‘to squirt’ or ‘spray’. It is pronounced ‘Zhee-Clay’. The term is inspired by the way that the printer nozzle applies the ink pigments to the paper. Giclée prints are quickly being recognized by the worlds leading galleries and museums, as the finest reproductions available today.
Insplendor is using the very latest digital technology. Artwork is captured from high resolution scans or photographs, and is then proofed and Giclée printed with archival-quality inks and acid-free art paper. Our Giclée prints render deep, saturated colours and has an exceptional quality that retains minute detail, subtle tints and blends, even subtle shadows and highlights visible when printing in black and white. Each and every print is quality checked to high standard, and packaged securely for delivery. A giclee print has a life span of 100 years or more if properly cared for by the owner. Thanks to our in-house print shop, we can monitor the quality of the print products at all times.
